By casting Robin Harsch as François, Lionel Baier turned to one of his peers because Robin Harsch is also a filmmaker. His short films "Sophie Calle" (2001) or "Federer et moi" (2006), as well as his documentary "La petite boiteuse" (2008) have received countless awards over the last few years. He is currently putting the finishing touches to a new short called "Quentin and Ferdinand", which is about male friendship and in which he also plays the lead.
Natacha Koutchoumov
Lionel Baier wrote the role of Rosa Rouge for Natacha Koutchoumov. He had already cast her as main female character in his first two fiction features, "Stupid Boy" (2004) and "Stealth" (2006).
Natacha Koutchoumov works regularly for the cinema, for TV and theatres both in Switzerland and in France. Nominated for the Swiss Film Award for her role in "Stupid Boy", she received the Swiss Film Award of "Best Supporting Actress" in 2007 for her role of a phobic in Denis Rabaglia's "No Panic".
Last autumn she could be seen on stage in Western Switzerland, acting in Maxim Gorky"™s play "Summer Folk", produced by Robert Bouvier.
Elodie Weber
Lionel Baier cast Elodie Weber as Christine. This is the first cinema role for this theatre actress who is at ease in classical and in "˜underground" roles. Among others, she has performed in the following plays: as Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", produced by Anne Bisang at La Comédie; as Suzanne in Horvath's "Figaro Gets a Divorce", produced by Valentin Rossier at La Comédie; in Bond's "Red, Black and Ignorant", produced by Eric Salama at T50; and, most recently in "Sexual Liberation", created by Dorian Rossel at the Arsenic.
